EDITORIAL PERSPECTIVE

Mono Orbit Awards approaches photography through a focused editorial and curatorial perspective.

Each submission is considered in relation to the theme, the photographer’s individual point of view and the strength of the image as a complete visual statement.

We look beyond technical execution alone. Particular attention is given to intention, originality, visual clarity and the meaningful use of monochrome.

The relationship to the theme should be present within the photograph itself. A title or description may provide context, but should not be required to make the image relevant or compelling.

All submissions are reviewed through one shared selection process. There are no separate categories and no distinction between documentary and conceptual approaches.

Selected works are considered not only as individual photographs, but also as part of the wider visual narrative of each edition.

SELECTION PROCESS

Initial Review

All eligible submissions are reviewed by the Mono Orbit Awards editorial team.

Final Selection

Shortlisted works are considered through an independent curatorial perspective. External photographers, editors, curators or other visual professionals may be invited to contribute to the final selection.

Awards

First Prize, Second Prize and Third Prize are selected from the complete body of eligible work. Honourable Mentions may also be awarded to photographs of particular merit. The final selection is based on the strength of the work rather than reputation, professional status or social media presence.

One theme. One selection. One shared perspective.
