THEME 01 | EMISSION
What we build does not end at its surface.
Every structure leaves a trace.
Emission explores what the built environment releases, produces and leaves behind - physically, socially, visually or symbolically.
The theme may be interpreted through architecture, infrastructure, industry, construction, energy, transport, public space or the wider human-made environment.
We welcome both documentary observation and conceptual interpretation. There are no separate categories. All submissions are considered together within one curatorial selection.
We are looking for photographs that move beyond literal illustration. Strong submissions should demonstrate intention, visual clarity and an individual perspective. The relationship to the theme should be visible within the image itself rather than depend entirely on its title or description.
Monochrome should function as part of the photographic language - strengthening structure, atmosphere and meaning rather than serving only as an effect.

All awarded and selected works will receive additional recognition and presentation through the Mono Orbit Awards platform.
