EMISSION

An international monochrome photography award dedicated to the built environment. EMISSION explores architecture, constructed landscapes and the relationship between human presence, structure and space.

ENTRIES CLOSE 6 JANUARY 2027

THE SYSTEM

Beyond a conventional award.

MONO ORBIT AWARDS is built around independent photographic judgement, a focused selection process and a commitment to recognising distinctive monochrome work. The system brings together a defined theme, a private evaluation process and a final constellation of selected photographers.

01 - THE CLOSED ROOM

A private space for independent photographic judgement. Entries are considered without a public vote, placing attention on visual language, originality and the strength of each photographic response.

02 - THE ORBIT 12

The final selection brings together work by at least twelve distinct photographers. THE ORBIT 12 represents a constellation of individual perspectives rather than a conventional ranking alone.

03 - AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Three principal awards recognise outstanding photographic responses to the edition's theme. A guaranteed total prize fund of EUR 2,100 is distributed across the three winning positions.

FIRST AWARD EUR 900
SECOND AWARD EUR 700
THIRD AWARD EUR 500

04 - THE PHOTOGRAPHIC LANGUAGE

Monochrome is not simply a visual restriction. It is a deliberate language of light, form, texture and spatial relationships. Each edition invites photographers to interpret its subject through their own considered approach.

05 - INDEPENDENT SELECTION

The award is evaluated through an independent photographic perspective, without public voting. Recognition is based on the photographic work and its relationship to the edition's concept.

MONO ORBIT AWARDS

A space for photography that questions how we see the constructed world.
